Upstart Eluta.ca Now Among Canada's Four Most Popular Job Search Sites

According to comScore Media Metrix*, in September 2007, the popular job search engine received 400,000 unique visitors in Canada who viewed over three million pages.

Unlike traditional job boards, Eluta.ca lets people find new jobs in Canada (http://www.eluta.ca) directly from employers' websites. The search engine uses a combination of sophisticated algorithms and old-fashioned human editing to index thousands of new positions every week. What's unique about Eluta.ca is that all its jobs are full-time, career-level opportunities -- no part-time, temporary or agency postings are included. "People often tell us that using Eluta.ca is a lot like using an everyday search engine," Meehan said. "The only difference is that our search results only include newly posted jobs across Canada."
A unique feature of Eluta.ca is that users can also target their job searches on award-winning employers, such as the annual list of Canada's Top 100 Employers released earlier this month (also by Mediacorp). "We'll have some wonderful tools on Eluta.ca this fall that integrate these two projects further," Meehan added.
One of the most dramatic findings in September's comScore Media Metrix results is that Eluta.ca has the highest composition of people aged 35 years and older amongst the top ten career-job search entities.
